If the question is “should I start at all?”, book mapping and bring the products you already own. Forty-five minutes is cheaper than a course you do not need, and we will say no if the file points to a GP instead of a peel.
Questions
Questions people ask before booking.
Short answers from the same people who sit the mapping session. If your question is medical, we will still send you to a doctor rather than guess in a paragraph.
Does the mapping session hurt or involve needles?
No. Mapping is photography, a couple of probes on the skin, and a conversation about what you already use at home. Nothing is injected and nothing is numbed. You may feel a cool plate for hydration and TEWL. If a later program includes needling or a laser pass, that is a different visit, booked only after you have the written plan in your hand.
Can I book one treatment instead of a program?
Yes. The single-treatment list is there for a reason — a facial, a peel, LED, a scalp visit. We will not talk you into twelve weeks if you asked for one hour. What we will say is that without a baseline, we cannot hand you a results file that means much. If you already know you want numbers, sit the mapping session first; the $95 is credited if you join a program within 30 days.
What if I'm on prescription retinoids?
Tell us the name, the strength and how long you have been using it — bring the box if you can. We do not stop a prescribed medicine on our own advice. We do change what we will do in the chair. Peels, needling and some laser passes wait. If a GP or dermatologist has you on isotretinoin, we need six clear months after the last dose before those treatments. Mapping can still go ahead; the file will simply say what is off limits.
How soon will I see something in the photos?
Texture and hydration can show in the week-4 set. Pigment is slower; we often want the eight-week frame before we call a change. Lesion counts sometimes drop earlier than the photograph looks “better”, which is why we count as well as look. If nothing has moved at week four we do not smile and book the same pass. We change the plan or we stop and talk about refunds for unused sessions.
Do I have to buy your home-care products?
No. We write a plan around what you already own when those products fit. We sell kits because some people want the exact pair we use in a program, and because unopened stock is simple to refund. If a product you brought in is fighting the protocol, we will say so and ask you to pause it. That is a clinical call, not a sales floor.
Can I pause a program if I travel?
Yes. Write to us before you go and we freeze the remaining sessions. Pigment work does not travel well into a beach week; we would rather pause than pretend. When you come back we repeat the measures before we pick up, because a month of sun or a month of dry air is a new baseline. Membership unused treatments can be moved once inside 60 days.
Is the clinic accessible by tram?
Route 78 runs along Chapel Street and stops a short walk from 118. Windsor station is about six minutes on foot. The rooms are on Level 2; if you need the lift, tell us when you book and we will use the lift-adjacent chair and meet you at the street door. Street parking is 2P on Albert Street. We are closed Sunday and Monday.
Do you treat body skin, not just face?
Yes. Body Composition is a sixteen-week measured course, and we offer lymphatic body treatments as singles. We also treat body skin when pigment or barrier issues sit on the chest or back, after the same mapping rules. We do not offer surgical body work, injections for fat, or anything we cannot photograph and measure in this room.
What happens at the week-4 review if numbers haven't moved?
We say so, in the file. Then we look at adherence, sun, medicines and whether the original plan was the wrong one. The next step might be a quieter protocol, a referral, or unused sessions refunded on the published formula. What we will not do is cheerlead a flat graph or book three more of the same because the package is not finished.
Who sees my photographs?
The clinicians on your file, and the person who writes the results PDF. Photographs are stored with the rest of your record on our Sydney host, not on a public drive, and they are not used on this site or in ads. You can ask us to delete them by writing to [email protected]. We keep files for twenty-four months after the last visit unless you ask sooner.
